Friday Refresh - 3 AM Friends

Friday Refresh - 3 AM Friends

Jan 24, 2025by Kecia Hielscher

Hey There,

Ever notice how some friendships just feel like home? You know, those people who've seen you ugly-cry, dance like nobody's watching, and still keep coming back for more? Today, I've been thinking a lot about these precious connections that make life so much richer.

Why True Friendships Are Pure Magic ✨
Let's be real - life throws us some wild curveballs. But here's what I've learned: having ride-or-die friends who'll answer your 3 AM calls or hop on a plane when you need them? That's not just friendship, that's your personal safety net for life's adventures (and misadventures!).

My Friendship Time Capsule
💝 I feel incredibly blessed to have some amazing souls in my corner. There's Janie (my bestie since first grade!) who honestly remembers more about my life than I do (slightly embarrassing, totally wonderful). Then there's Kathy, who started as my first boss but became one of my dearest friends - isn't it wild how life works sometimes? Her perspective on tough stuff is like having a wise owl on speed dial.

And Jennifer? She's my adventure buddy, heart-listener, and partner-in-spontaneous-trips all rolled into one. Having someone who supports your dreams while keeping it real with honesty and kindness? That's the good stuff right there.

Here's the Thing About Friendship 🌱
Just like that plant you forgot to water (oops), friendships need our attention to thrive. They're living, breathing relationships that grow stronger when we:

  • Make time for regular check-ins (even if it's just a quick voice note)
  • Show up for the big moments (and the seemingly small ones)
  • Listen without trying to fix everything (sometimes people just need to vent!)
  • Create new memories together (adventure is calling!)

Your Friday Challenge 💫
This weekend, reach out to one friend who makes your life better. Maybe it's that person you've been meaning to call for weeks, or the friend who always makes you laugh until you snort. Send them a message, schedule a coffee date, or plan that overdue catch-up call.

Because here's what I know for sure: in this wild, wonderful life, having true friends isn't just nice - it's necessary. They're the ones who help us become our best selves while loving us exactly as we are.

With gratitude for all the friendship in our lives,

Kecia

P.S. I'd love to hear about your ride-or-die friends! Hit reply and tell me: what's the most adventurous (or hilarious) thing you've ever done with your bestie? 😊
