Pumpkin! Pumpkin! Pumpkin!
I've been completely addicted to this facial mask (and all things pumpkin) It is super easy to make and leaves your skin soft and smooth. Use organic pumpkin. Trader Joe's has a great one. p.s. I've also been seeing a lot of recipes on line (thanks Pinterest) for pumpkin masks using cinnamon. DON'T USE CINNAMON! It sounds super tasty and I'm sure would smell divine, but is an irritant for most skin types.
Alpha Hydroxy Pumpkin Enzyme Mask
1/4 cup mashed organic pumpkin
2 T. plain Greek yogurt
1 T. honey
3-5 drops organic essential oils
This pumpkin mask is full of exfoliating enzymes and alpha hydroxy acids that will brighten your skin. Pumpkin is naturally rich in antioxidants, beta-carotene, potassium, magnesium, zinc, iron, and copper as well as Vitamins C, E, and A, which soothe the skin, repair tissue and help reduce lines and wrinkles. The honey acts as a humectant that hydrates, tones, and tightens the skin. The yogurt contains natural lactic acid that gently exfoliates. Essential oils can be added depending on your skin type. Mix all ingredients up in a bowl. Spread evenly over clean skin and let set for 15 minutes. Rinse and dry. Leftover mask can be stored up to 5 days in the fridge. This makes enough for 3-4 uses...share with friends!
